This pendant is a bird perched on a leafy branch. I sawed out the bird and leaves by hand. The branch is a piece of twisted wire that I hammered flat. The disc has a branch and bramble pattern and the disc is 1.1 inches in diameter.
The pendants was given a dark, antique patina to bring out texture and details. It was tumbled with steel shot for a burnished shine.
So, why do I use argentium silver? Argentium is a metal alloy similar to sterling silver but it is modified by removing some of the copper and adding the metalloid germanium. The metal is hypoallergenic and highly tarnish resistant. It is created from recycled silver.
