This substantial sterling silver cuff measuring 1/2 an inch wide and weighing over 48 grams is a beautiful mix of sterling silver and copper with a lot of fun details. 3 copper flowers are soldered to the front of the cuff. I sawed out each flower by hand so there are some variations. I gave the flowers a little texture and soldered tiny silver balls at the center. I hammered the balls slightly flat. All around the cuff I created texture with my hammers. The outer parts of the cuff have hammered lines like stems for the flowers or blades of grass. The center has a hammered pebble texture. Ends of the cuff are slightly tapered. Inside of cuff is stamped 925 for the silver content and my maker's mark "SCJ."
I gave the cuff a patina to bring out all the hammered details and to provide more contrast. Then I polished the cuff and tumbled it with stainless steel shot for a burnished shine.
This cuff fits an average-sized wrist. It's six inches long and has a 1 inch opening.
