The coneflower or echinacea symbolizes health and strength, something we could all use right now. I created this from sterling silver metal, sawing out the individual parts, adding texture and soldering them to the backplate. The backplate was sawed into a large diamond shape and has hammered texture along the edges. I drilled a hole at the bottom and wirewrapped a sunstone bead to dangle below. I thought the colors of orange and pink in the sunstone were similar to those in a coneflower. I gave the coneflower 4 petals and a stem. The pendant has a ring soldered at the top and then I slipped another ring through and soldered that closed.
Pendant, including the rings and the sunstone measures 2 1/4 inches long and 1 1/4 inches wide.
I have the pendant on a 17-inch sterling silver chain but feel free to request a different length if desired. No extra charge up to 20 inches.
I gave the metal, wire and chain a dark patina to bring out the details. The entire piece was tumbled with stainless steel shot for a burnished shine.
