I am the nose behind HENNY FAIRE Co. fragrances and apothecary. A university lecturer and visual artist, I began studying perfumery in 2014 and launched HENNY FAIRE Co. a year later with a line of home fragrances inspired by native Eastern U.S. plants.
I grew up in Pennsylvania's Anthracite Region (Northern Appalachia). As a child, I observed my elders, including the real-life "Henny", forage in the hills surrounding our mining village. I was further fascinated by the vanities of the older women in my village. With bottles of herbal tinctures situated alongside European perfumes, they displayed the unique blend of practicality and refinement that characterized the women of this generation.
I craft all HENNY FAIRE Co. products in micro-batches in my home studio outside of Reading, PA. Along with the plants my husband grows on our property, I now depends on wildcrafters throughout the Eastern U.S. for raw materials. I also design all product packaging and enjoy caring for my customers across the country.
